How much does a mural cost?

Pricing depends primarily on size, level of detail and the subject matter. The more intricate the detail, the more work is involved and that is reflected in the price. As a general rule it works out at approximately £100 per day - again, it depends on the design and the detail. I will however always agree a final price at the beginning with you, so there's no worrying about it once the mural is underway.

What happens during the mural process?

Once I've established a general idea of what you want, I look at the room and the furniture and I offer ideas.  You provide feedback and let me know if I am on the right track.  Once we have the major concepts worked out, I make a sketch of the best ideas and give you a price for the mural based on the sketch. How long does a mural take?

This depends on the size of mural and the subject. Painting foreground elements over the existing solid colored background may take 1 - 3 days, and a full wall mural could take anywhere from 3 to 8 days depending on the complexity. 

When can you do the mural?

Any time you need me to! I work in around your schedule - I can work full days, evenings or weekends.

What kind of paint do you use?

Household emulsions for the base colours, artists acrylics for the pretty stuff! Murals can then be sealed in a durable non-toxic acrylic sealant if necessary.

Do I need to prepare the walls myself?

It will save you money if you paint the wall the necessary base color beforehand, but I can also do that for you (it will be included in the quote if necessary).  I can also design the mural around the existing wall color if you wish.

I don’t know what I want, can you help?

Oh yes! If there's one thing I'm not short of, it's ideas! During your free consultation, I will look at the space where you want your artwork.  We can look to your child's favourite characters, books, DVD's and other materials for inspiration - the children themselves are usually a neverending stream of ideas also!

Do you travel?

No problem - travel and accommodation costs will be factored into your quote if necessary.

What other things do you do?

I can also do customised painted furniture and accessories to complement your mural - either existing or new!
