The Mural Process
1. The initial meeting
As a first step, I'll come to your house for an obligation-free visit to discuss your ideas with you and have a look at the wall or room you'd like your mural on.
You may have some definite ideas about what it is you would like, or you might be looking for me to help you work out the best design to suit you and your family. Depending on the ages of your children, you might want to involve them at this stage and see what their suggestions are.
I'll take some measurements and photographs of the area to be painted, and will find out more about when you would like it done, access times, any factors that might influence how long the job will take.
2. Your free sketch
I'll then put together a sketch for you of my ideas, based on our conversations. I'll email or mail the sketch to you to have a think about, and when we speak next you can let me know your thoughts, any changes or further ideas that you've had.
If you decide to go ahead, I'll then update the sketch into a final version for you - once you're then happy with it, the fun bit begins!
3. The mural begins
After setting up and making sure the room is secure from pets and curious hands, the mural begins!
Using a combination of freehand drawing and projection, I sketch out the design on the wall. I then begin blocking out sections of colour and major areas.
4. The scene takes shape
Further details and colour blocks get added, until the characters are all present and the picture is ready for details to be added.
5. Details are added and the mural is finished!
Outlines, faces and other fine detailing are added. The entire mural is then covered in two layers of durable acrylic clear sealant to protect it. Your mural is then finished and ready to be enjoyed!
